Make your BigCommerce catalog visible to AI shopping agents
SignalixIQ connects to BigCommerce's Storefront and Catalog APIs and exposes your products via a hosted MCP server. Built for B2B and enterprise BigCommerce setups including multi-channel and price-list complexity.
About this integration
BigCommerce powers ~50,000 mid-market and enterprise stores. SignalixIQ integrates via the BigCommerce Storefront API and exposes catalog data to AI shopping agents via MCP.
Why BigCommerce stores need MCP
BigCommerce's headless flexibility helps — but creates discoverability gaps
Many BigCommerce stores run headless storefronts (Next.js, Gatsby, custom React). Agent crawlers struggle with these — pre-rendered content is inconsistent. SignalixIQ pulls directly from BigCommerce's API, so headless setup makes no difference to agent visibility.
Multi-channel and price-list logic needs normalization
BigCommerce supports per-channel catalogs and customer-group price lists. AI agents see a flat catalog. SignalixIQ maps your channel/price-list logic to the customer-facing default that should be exposed publicly.
B2B-only stores still benefit from agent visibility
B2B BigCommerce merchants assume agents are consumer-only. False — Claude and ChatGPT are increasingly used in procurement research. B2B catalogs surfaced via MCP capture early-stage buyer research before competitive RFQ.
How to connect BigCommerce to AI shopping agents
- 1
Create a BigCommerce API account (3 minutes)
In BigCommerce admin: Settings > API Accounts > Create V2/V3 API Token. Required scopes: Products (read), Information & Settings (read), Orders (read-only, optional for analytics).
- 2
Paste credentials into SignalixIQ (30 seconds)
SignalixIQ validates and begins catalog sync. Initial sync for ~10,000-product catalogs completes in 4-7 minutes.
- 3
Configure channel/price-list defaults
If you run multi-channel or have customer-group pricing, choose which channel and which price tier (if any) the public MCP catalog should expose. Most stores use 'Storefront' channel + base prices.
- 4
MCP endpoint live + agent registration
Your MCP server registers with ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity within 24-72 hours.
BigCommerce → SignalixIQ field mapping
Exactly which BigCommerce fields SignalixIQ reads and how they map to the canonical agent-product schema.
| SignalixIQ field | BigCommerce field | Notes |
|---|---|---|
product.title | Product > Name | Primary identifier. |
product.description | Product > Description | HTML stripped. |
product.gtin | Product > UPC / GTIN field | BigCommerce has a native GTIN field. Better completion than WooCommerce/Shopify. |
product.brand | Product > Brand | Native field; clean mapping. |
product.price | Variant > Price (or Sale Price) | Per-variant; honors price lists if configured. |
product.availability | Inventory Tracking | If inventory tracking enabled, real-time. Otherwise availability is 'available'. |
product.condition | Product > Condition | Native field; surfaces refurbished/used flags. |
product.option_set | Variant > Options | Color, size, etc. mapped to canonical attribute schema. |
Common BigCommerce issues that hurt agent discoverability
- Price lists applied to wrong customer group exposed publicly
- Storefront channel not the public default — multi-channel confusion
- Hidden products (visibility=false) accidentally synced before filter applied
- Product condition not set (defaults to 'New' — usually correct but worth verifying)
- Brand name inconsistency vs. BigCommerce's normalized brand list

Frequently asked
Does this work with BigCommerce headless / B2B Edition?▾
Yes. SignalixIQ pulls from BigCommerce's API regardless of how your storefront renders. Headless setups (Catalyst, Next.js, custom React) work identically. B2B Edition's company-account features don't affect public catalog exposure — SignalixIQ uses the public/storefront channel.
How does SignalixIQ handle BigCommerce price lists?▾
You choose which price list represents your public pricing during setup (default is the base price). SignalixIQ does not expose customer-group-specific prices through MCP. Logged-in agents (rare) could theoretically negotiate via authenticated MCP, but the public catalog uses your chosen tier.
What about multi-storefront BigCommerce setups?▾
Each storefront/channel maps to a separate SignalixIQ workspace. Sync one storefront, evaluate, then add more. Multi-storefront enterprise customers typically run a single MCP endpoint per public-facing channel.
